The lane, further along: three houses and the big tree

Meet the family

They live at the first house on the lane. Your child will know them by name after one episode.

  • Yusuf, 6

Curious and quick, learns every lesson the hard way.

  • Maryam, 8

The big sister who knows a little more.

  • Raiha, 2

Repeats every phrase until she gets it right.

  • Noor the cat

Never says a word, hops into every song.

  • Mama

Answers when the children ask. Never shouts.

  • Baba

Tells the stories and grows the lemons.

One phrase at a time

Each episode teaches one Arabic phrase. It is said three times and shown three ways: the script, how to say it, what it means.

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ Bismillah In the name of Allah

Episode 1: Bismillah: why we say it first

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ Alhamdulillah All praise is for Allah

Episode 2: Alhamdulillah: saying thank you to Allah

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ Assalamu alaikum Peace be upon you

Episode 3: Assalamu alaikum: the greeting of peace
The living room, with the sofa and the window

Checked before it is recorded

  • Accurate. Every Arabic word and every hadith is checked against a primary source and signed off by a qualified reviewer. The source is printed under each episode.
  • Gentle. Allah is named with love, stories end with hope, nobody shouts and nothing is scary.
  • Calm. A still camera, quiet music and slow pacing. Made to be watched with a parent, not to hook a child.
  • Safe. Nothing is collected from a child, no link sends a child off the platform, no toys are pushed.
  • For every family. Children of every background see themselves, in plain English with the Arabic shown three ways.

How we check, step by step

Every episode, with a note for parents

What your child learned, questions for dinner, a habit for the week, and the sources behind every word.
